The exhibition was held on 15 - 19 April in Geneva. "752 exhibitors from 48 countries presented more than a thousand innovative solutions. Over five days, the exhibition was visited by about 60 thousand visitors" - reported the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers, the official representative of Poland at the exhibition.

The Polish booth presented more than forty solutions by Polish inventors. Poland received a total of 13 gold medals, including 5 gold medals with distinction, as well as 22 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. "No Polish solution was left without a medal, and the number of presented solutions puts Poland in third place among all the countries represented at the exhibition - right after the representations of China and Thailand" - reported the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers.

Gold medal with distinction went to the project "Use of a panel of 14 autoantibodies as a classifier in non-invasive prenatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome chromosomal aberration based on the analysis of blood", prepared at the Medical University of Bialystok. That same prize was given to the "Separation drainage inlet" from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and Rzeszów University of Technology. Gold medal with distinction was awarded to the "Rainwater treatment device" developed at Rzeszów University of Technology. Highest award was also given to the "Phenol-formaldehyde resins free of toxic monomers" developed at the Institute of Industrial Chemistry in Warsaw. Also awarded was the Multimedia Platform for Alternative Communication in Education and Rehabilitation from the King John III Sobieski School No. 6 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

In addition to the medals and diplomas in the main competition of Geneva Inventions, Polish solution also received numerous medals and awards from the national representations of inventors from Iran, Croatia, Romania, Moldova, Portugal, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Peru.

"The exhibition Geneva Inventions provides a unique forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences between inventors, industry and business. Every year, the value of contracts concluded by persons who present their solutions at the exhibition exceeds 50 million euros. In addition to the opportunity to establish valuable contacts or sign commercialisation contracts for solutions, each presented innovation is evaluated by an international jury of 85 experts from each of the areas" - reported the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers.
